It's not bad im just confused.

just fucking cracked down the book and got excited by the "as above" alchemy reference. not beating the nerd allegations.

it's good. the main conflict revealed itself pretty early, and some of it feels like filler. but I love the narrative style, it's so disgusting and beautiful.

this book is addictive.

it took me a minute to get into it because as of maybe five pages ago i finally looked up the Inys lady ranks. I'm really enjoying the narrators voice, and I think the Seiiki culture seems really interesting. can't wait to see what else happens in this 835 PAGE BOOK.

It did That Thing™ where the couple had some sort of falling out between the two books, which I don't absolutely love but we'll see. but there's a character literally named Rocky Horror and he called Andrew a skinny bitch and I love the narrator of the audiobook for the way he said that.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I wasn't sure if I would like it because it was recommended to me as a "post-apocalyptic queer romance" and unless it's something like The Song of Achilles I'm not a huge romance fan. But this feels like just a normal story that happens to have some romance. I'm so mad I am stuck with the audiobook for now. I'm loving the whole restarting topic that seems to be a very prominent point.
