If I could only read one book until I’m dead: this is the one. Had to read it again. And it won’t be the last….

This demands pretty razor sharp focus to get something out of. But I’m enjoying it:)

The only thing I have an issue with here is that Bernhard only takes about 25 pages (the very last 25) to engage with the burial.

I think the whole ceremony could have been way more fleshed out and focused on. But anyways I’m going to finish this great novel tomorrow morning.

I think I’ll give it a 4.5/5

This book is such a pleasure to read. It’s very long, but I wasn’t really bored a bit at any point. There might have been a few passages that were ridiculous and indulgent, but that’s what makes this so charming honestly. Besides there is some amazing writing in here, and the constant inner struggle is portrayed so vividly..

I love these detailed descriptions of social interactions. Where both parties are scheming and playing a role, and both know, that they both know…or do they?
