Here's the thing: I had this idea that God is the ultimate pragmatist, and realizing that *more* is needed, God imbued Mary with life to create a counterbalance, a melding of humanism with pragmatism. And I wanted to read more literature on the subject. So my uncle recommended "Pragmatism". I'll let you know if it helped :)
