Already, I've been crying through the most tender first essay.

Just began the 9th and final chapter.
I honestly thought I wouldn't learn much from it, but it's been incredibly fascinating in giving meat and layers to the experience I've watched as well as felt 3 times over.

It also validates caregivers of all sorts, those who consistently spend proximity and time with young ones, and delves into how the experience *literally* changes their brains.

😭 I'm savoring this book. So many moments it just pulls tears to my eyes.

"When your oppression is communal, your liberation must be as well."

I wish I could experience reading this book again for the first time.

So far it's heart rending and beautiful, Wallace's description of the tedium and trauma. ❤️
