Just for a love of the game. Bought this at a used game store in the bargain bin about a year ago xD

I was hesitant to add this to Goodreads, because...Well, it just doesn't feel up for critique when I know there's a master behind it, ha! My reason for listing this is visiblity. This novel should be picked up if you're interested. Sadhguru is a master with precocious insight and there's not much else for me to say, he's alive and his words breathe. *nod*

Credit it where it's due, I enjoy John's writing. I just find some of the generalities boring for me. Granted we're not too far in the novel, I feel like it's a slow burn, which has its own charm, but I'm tempted to skim.

The thrill of the hunt from the first novel was what got me on this series, but if I drudge up the memories I think I felt the same way in the beginning. Here's to hopin` for the kick.

Terry's wordplay, the whimsicality of time, and the true magic of humor make this novel thoroughly enjoyable. It's so humanely relatable and clever I can't help smile after certain tangents about time - the way it works, the way it FEELS it works and how it all settles either way.

End of chapter 1. Getting some Mistborn vibes here thus far. Ironic too since I grabbed this book after listening to Sanderson and Dan Wells podcast where Dan listed Fonda Lee as his number one fantasy author (living). Never read one of Dan's books but I picked this up on his recommendation lol.

This is a buddy read. I recommended that we read something from V.E. Schwab because if we don't like the plot at least we can enjoy good writing. So far I'm liking Gallant. Solid prose, as expected, and there's enough crumbs left after each chapter to keep me reading.

It's not exactly my cuppa, but it's tasteful enough to want to finish the whole drink.

Anyone read these? Share my book thoughts....Every time I open Goodreads I'm sad(?) that I don't recognize any books or authors these days. Maybe it's my own self reflection but my reviews haven't been so great. I feel like I read everything I wanted to, and nothing has hit me with a wow factor in some time. I guess I'm sad that I might be done with books D:

I have been in the biggest reading slump.

Man, I simply don't care for Spensa at this point. None of them except maybe Doomslug, M-bot and Gran gran. A few members from both sides of the conflict...Yeah. That's it. And that's only because I liked em 2 or three books ago.

In this book....Bleh. Let the slugs win the galaxy.

I'm gonna be hard pressed to say kind things.

Forgive me if you love the series, there's a lot to love...

When my brothers played the same video games as me it really irked me if they played on MY save file and saved over it. Coming to book 4, knowing things happened in other forms of media outside of the main, feels like the author saved over my save file.

The flair and passion are really missing. Gonna trek on.

Something's missing. Still gonna read this through. If I recommend this series to anyone it would just be book 1. Same way I feel about Mistborn. I like Brandon's novels before they expand. I don't' dislike them after I just feel like the story in the first one is loads better. That's definitely true here. Skyward is in a league of its own.

Defiant has big shoes to fill. We'll see what happens. I forgot a lot!

I've been off for a while. I see updates and what not. Nothing really great seems to stand out to me. Like, I don't even care to read Defiant...
