Once again grabbing for something light hearted and easy after the last one lol

also I never heard about the case of Amadou Diallo. Absolutely sick. 22 y/o unarmed man with no criminal record murdered by police. He was shot FORTY-ONE times on his front porch bc the cop “thought his wallet was a gun”. this is so FUCKED.

Edward Clary’s case pissed me the fuck off. My jaw literally dropped at him getting resentenced.

I can only take this book in small doses rn. Lots of big words and deep concepts that my adhd can’t handle for more than like 30 mins

So essentially the War on Drugs was started by the US government to further oppress black people after segregation and Jim Crow ended by increasing the number of black people being thrown in jail so that they couldn’t vote.

I already know I’m bout to get pissed off

Lots of build up happening but the way it’s written has my brain going down multiple roads of theories so I haven’t got bored yet

This book is LONG. But it’s keeping my interest and the chapters are super short which I’m a fan of.

Another goodwill find I only bought bc I liked the cover lol. Idk how I didn’t realize it when I bought it but the book is legit a square. It’s kinda awkward to hold in your hands
