Interesting plot, so far. We'll see what the rest of the book brings, but so far, Malina (FMC) is kind of annoying and all over the place. Not enough to make me stop reading. Hopefully her arc changes that throughout the story lol.

I cannot imagine a more perfect book boyfriend than Max. Cute cabin in a remote, beautiful, flower garden filled with books? Hell yes.

Yeah, I need more of a breather before diving back in with Rin. The start of this one feels more violent and graphic than the other 2, so far. I just can't handle the graphic violence right now. I wanted to read it all at once, so I wouldn't forget anything, but my mental health says no ma'am, that's not for you right now.

Damn, I gotta take a breather from this book for a minute. It's so good, but definitely look up trigger warnings before reading.

I freaking love this book so far. It's just delicious. I've never read anything by this author, but I added basically all of her books to my TBR. 😆 It's a great cozy romance. Like if Emily Wilde and Wendell had sex scenes, I think this is what it would be like. 😂

Terrible timing - to have to leave this book and go get the kids, make dinner, etc with only 30 pages left in the book 😭

When I last updated, I was enjoying the book but at the time I wouldn't have gone so far as to say loving it. Now, I'm loving it! The action kicked up significantly, the stakes are more clear and higher, secrets are coming to light. Plus the romance is coming into play. Brava, Amélie Wen Zhao, brava.

My husband and son's got me this series for Mother's Day, and I'm loving it so far. I did notice the metal magic seems to be similar to the metal magic in Mistborn, didn't expect that. Regardless, so far it's a great book.

I'm really, really enjoying this debut book

I truly have no idea how I feel about this book as of now. 😅 There's a lot I like, but then there are these blanket statements that I just don't feel are accurate. I'm not a fan of blanket statements pretty much ever, though. But the author is speaking a lot of truths, and I'm learning stuff I had no idea about.

So far, this is a really solid romantacy debut. Well written, unique magic, political intrigue, pretty solid (and interesting) world development. I need the real world to stop interrupting my reading. time. 😆

I'm not sure I'm ready for this. I feel like Rin is going to die and 💯 I don't want her to. I want her to live a peaceful life somewhere she can just be. Somewhere she won't have to struggle for the basic necessities of life. I want her to experience the mundane, with ample food available. She deserves love and happiness, even if she did commit casual genocide... wait.

I just need to know what happens next, but adult responsibilities keep interfering with my reading 🥹

I'm enjoying the book, but it's more violent than my anxious af mind can handle at times. Taking me forever to read it, since I keep having to stop reading it and read something else to cleanse my brain palate. 😅

I'm enjoying this arc a lot. It's got me in a bit of a chokehold. I've never read anything by P.H. Low before, but I definitely want to check out more of their work.

So far, I'm enjoying and interested in this ARC. The magic (magick in this book) system hasn't been explained, but hopefully soon.
