A part of the book's writing style that I don't enjoy too much happens pretty often, whent the author repeats something Darius thinks, but with a maybe or some sort of uncertaintiy at the end. I like it, and shows Darius's character, however I think it is highly repetitive, and never quite changes anything for me, only because it happens so often throughout the book.

A character that I disagree with often is Darius's dad Stephen Keller. He expects perfection from Darius, and seems to be constantly dissapointed with him, when Darius makes mistakes. He also isn't very open with Darius about Darius's problems, and hardly offers a helping hand in his social life, and just expects Darius to fix it, by just fitting in.

Unspoken rules can often impact our sesne of belonging, as they can often lead to confusion, especially in new enviorments such as Darius in Darius the Great is Not Okay. Darius recalls how "everyone would whisper behind our backs... about how ostentatious we were" (Khorram 170). These rules can somtimes be forever evolving, which can often lead to a sense of unbleonging when not followed correctly.
