I wasn’t expecting Bryce to be so different from Freye and Aelin. The there’s more to her than just being a party girl is actually working on me.

So first thoughts about Bryce, we not be friends. SJM did not write her the way I see most main characters who are women. First impression: she’s a little shallow, party girl and a little self absorbed. On one hand I find it hard to connect to her, the other it’s a refreshing change and the third hidden hand she’s the kind of girl I wish I could have been.

In S.J Maas style it’s harder and harder to put down.

I’m not enjoying all the time spent on Chaol for the first half but I’m enjoying the direction it’s going for him.

Omg! First of all, why does anyone think Aelin is anything but brilliant? She’s literally out of her mind and it’s great. “Aelin was insane, Dorian realized. Brilliant and wicked, but insane. And perhaps the greatest, most unremorseful liar he'd ever encountered.” LIKE YES SHE IS! But damn if it doesn’t come from a good heart.

A lot of building for what I believe is going to be some huge character development. Dorian growing into kingship, Aelin into queenship, Manon into a whole new person and leader.

It’s moving pretty fast, a lot of action in the first 20%.
