Reading this on the strength of Jen's recommendation. Good so far.

In a class I took, we talked about how books teach you to read them. This one definitely does. Lots of stories piled on top of each other.

It's fun to finally read the original version of this classic holiday tale.

Almost there! I must finish this by the end of November.

Gets better and better. Chambers constantly challenges, raises consciousness, and calls the reader higher.

I'm throwing out an arbitrary number of pages read, but I've read a lot of the writings in here. I like this book for class discussion.

I'm enjoying this one slightly more than its predecessor. Jacques is showing a broader scope. The characters are fun too!

Finally getting some time to read today. The myths about Orpheus are beautiful and moving.

This is a fun read if you like myths. Translation is good w/ a few missteps.

Time to catch up on my mythology.

This book is more whimsical than others by Austen--plenty of humor. I think the narrator is the best character so far.

Wonderful reading as always. Herriot is an excellent raconteur.

I just need an afternoon to polish this off. When you pick up this book, it's hard to put it down again--so lush and vivid.

Merton writes with great wisdom and clarity about the spiritual world. I like this book more and more.

Yeats is brilliant. Kipling disappoints. Masters is okay (need a larger sample). E. A. Robinson surprises me. Onto Frost.

This is a good memoir, but it's slow going for me, especially after reading Vonnegut.

Fun and compelling read. If we weren't reading this before bed, we'd be through this one in a jiffy.

I liked Hopkins a lot more than I used to. Now I'm onto my boy Yeats, who really makes me want to go to Ireland.

I prayed about what to read next; this is the answer I got. Sounds weird, I guess, but why ask if I'm not going to go along?
