The editor REALLY fell down on the job on this one.

pp. 31 April of 492 "They look small," Cristov said, surprised.
"They're weyrlings," the harper said. "They're just old enough to fly between and carry firestone."

pp. 194 April of 495 "They look small," Cristov marveled. "They're weyrlings," Britell replied. "They're just old enough to fly between and carry firestone."
Not only is the author plagiarizing himself

Oh my. I didn't think that it could get worse.

So far we have 'Ima' the hunter of Camp Natalon being referred to as a man in one place and as a woman in another place.

We have Pellar being promoted to journeyman in one place, if he finished a mission, then when he does finish the mission he's rewarded with...an apprenticeship.

I don't think an editor read this....

"As followers of Jesus, we have to learn peace and happiness. Mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health is a never ending battle. And the peace of God is unleashed when we are disciplined thinkers. Learn from everyone and ever situation, but don't ever allow anyone else to think for you. Own your faith. Think through your faith. Live your faith as a discipline."

"For Phillips, as it is for us, the peace of God-which includes happiness and joy-is a discipline we learn, no matter what we face, not an automatic skill or natural Christian ability."

This is so true. When waves of depression hit, you can't just dwell on them, you have to lift up your eyes, you have to choose to turn away from it and focus on something else that is good and positive.

"For there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

Have I mentioned that I am really enjoying this? Maybe I am finally mature enough to understand why Shakespeare has endured until now!

"But look where sadly the poor wretch comes reading."

Good to know that the trope that people who read in public must perforce be sad has been around since at least Shakespeare's time.

I think he is using it tongue in cheek though to show how idiotic the idea is.

I feel as though the beginning of the downfall of our society can be pinpointed with scary accuracy to when we stopped requiring the reading of Shakespeare. Or maybe that is too harsh, when we as a Soviet stopped reading or watching Shakespeare for pleasure. There is a lot in here. There is common sense, morality, philosophy, politics and statescraft. I am really enjoying this medium. I want to read the others now.

Other famous quotes I had no idea were from Hamlet:
Neither a borrower nor a lender be.
-Frailty, thy name is woman.
It is a custom more honored in the breach than in the observance.
Something is written in the state of Denmark.
I set it down, that one may smile, and smile, and be a villain.
There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt in your philosophy.

I am really enjoying this, I don’t think I have ever read hamlet before. I am enjoying finding all of the sayings that have are still part of our idioms that had their birth here. I didn’t even know half of them came from Shakespeare. I am learning.

“To thine own self be true.” I had no idea that was from hamlet

And back to the 197 page area...I finally decided to sit down and at least work on finishing this book....I'm glad I did, I read another essay by an author that was so good I really want to read her work. All about perfectionism. It was great.
