why are there a million different random names and words that I’m supposed to know without any sort of description? I literally could not tell you anything about this kingdom, what it looks like, what year this is supposed to be or a single trait of any of the characters or beings mentioned…

i’ve rly enjoyed some of her other series, but I will not be reading another book in this one. This was really really bad. I’m fighting for my life to finish this.

I’m 3 stories further and i’m so stuck on hills like elephants - it’s so well written!!
so much implied and so much tension and conflict conveyed in a conversation about nature while waiting for a train. I read it twice as I didn’t get it the first time and wow !!!!
idc abt the other stories this will be getting 5 stars just for that

I don’t think I will enjoy the other short stories, but the Hills of the white elephant was kinda worth it
