Obama is portrayed by Mendell as a phenomenon who ascended to great heights in American Politics defying all odds. Obama is shown as a healer and not a divider. Mendell in a way helped me overcome the myth of Obama which I had in my mind. I now think Obama was more of a politician than an idealist and he was a dreamer who could have done much more. The book makes for good reading and helps the reader understand Obama
