Portia feels like one of the most convincing portrayals of a high-functioning neurodivergent teen I’ve seen in a classic novel.

I’m switching between audiobook and physical copy. For me, this story is much better presented as an audio drama. The writing in this book irks me, but I’m more forgiving when I’m listening to it.

My thoughts after a third of the book: I love a good metaphor or simile, but this is getting ridiculous. Also, can’t stand when adult characters are written to stick out their tongues to show annoyance or defiance.

I‘m DNF this book for now. It’s not keeping my interest. I’ll try again another time
