they keep on wondering how the survivor list is related to chip, and he thinks that's why he's adopted. They also think that the FBI is hiding something.

they tried to figure out who was on a survivor list they found and why the FBI would try to relocate a family or the reason why their moving and how the FBI knew they were moving 2 days in advance.

their son is adopted and they had to go to the fbi because the son was supposedly a threat to national security so they tried to figure out where he came from, and why he would be classified as a threat to national security.

the daughter of the family was angry at them because she had to be home- alone because the rest of the family had to go to an adoption meeting, and they thought their son wasn't going to be counted as a citizen.
