no more books about this topic after this one but feel like after McCurdy’s book it’s time to finally tackle the final boss.

Roth is so wild because it’s like are you documenting something or doing something? Is this book still a brilliant autopsy of how the American Jewish obsession with assimilation into the norms of “polite society” breeds catastrophe if the Swedes and Dawns and Lous read it and are nodding along to the internal monologue? Phil are you a misogynist or an expert-level archivist of misogyny? (Ok we know that one)
