I’m not sure I’m going to finish this. The beginning was so good then it just went off the rails.

Ok. This book is over 11 hours long. The previous book while I enjoyed was way too long and it was 19 hours. I do like the writing and characters - it just needs an edit.

The change of narration 😩😩😩😩😩

This is going to take a long time to get through. It’s written so well but wow, it’s so deeply painful to read what these people have gone through.

I’m starting to feel increasingly enraged that the author has barely touched on the fact that what his grandfather did to H.M. was complete malpractice and egregious harm. Maybe he’ll touch on it at the end, but it’s so difficult to listen to how H.M. is discussed like he’s a pet.

Hooo boy. A lot of the detailed medical procedures are extremely brutal. The lobotomies are not only so depressing but nightmarish to listen to.
