Riveting. Such a simple articulation of what I believe everyone needs to understand.

A thoughtful reminder of how terrible the majority of parents are post WW2.

Been listening to the audiobook and reading the hard copy. Very difficult read. It’s just about raisin farming. I thought it was going to have more to do with broad cultural points on the fading agrarian society? It was quite perplexing to just have chapter after chapter of vignettes on different raisin farmers in California. Hard read but I will try to finish

Absolutely incredible ending. The Margret Thatcher chapter was fantastic. We need to learn more about her in the United States. Incredible woman. The last chapter “The Leadership Paradigm”, is why we need to study history. All the answers to our problems in the present lie in the past. Excellent read for anyone!

The Stalin chapter was mortifying. I am now in the chapter regarding DDE. Excellent organizer and decision maker. It proves what is possible even if you lack technical skill or visible skills that one can achieve great things.

Hitler was not talented, not intelligent, he had absolutely no military prowess/ability, he was an awful socialite and he was not relatable. This also isn’t even mentioning the fact that he was a raving narcissist who would talk without ceasing for hours. Yet he led an extraordinary/prominent nation for over a decade? What does that say…

It’s fantastic. The first three chapters have been incredible. Napoleon, Nelson and Churchill so much to learn from the past!

Very disjointed. Dragging a good deal. I am not liking this as much as I was early on.

Too many characters…. So it gets off track but when it returns to main plot line it is fantastic.

Started it this morning and can’t put it down. It’s a gut wrenching reality check in government overreach…

Currently misleading. Not as many uniforms as I am used to seeing. So far disappointed. I enjoy the color and vibrancy of the pictures of this series… this book does not fall in line with the rest of the books…
