I swear side characters in this book are only here for exposition. Why does Baldwin feel the need to remind his family what happened to their father? They all know. Why are you rehashing it in stunning detail?

Okay so let’s be real. I’m only reading this because I saw that Matthew Goode was playing the male lead in the upcoming tv series. But even my love for Matthew Goode might not be able to withstand my dislike of this insta love.

“You modern women with your fine educations are so fascinating. But women are no good at theology...” Oh lord. We’ve got a religious vampire on our hands.

I can actually hear Cinemasin’s “Exposition” count with the introduction of Domenico. Also there is no possible way Matthew just happened to be bffs with all the greatest figures in history and happen to be at all the major events. Like did the guy never take a century off or anything?

I feel like their escape to France is the same as Padme and Anakin’s escape to Naboo. Like the girl’s life is supposed to be in mortal danger but here they are drinking wine, dancing... talking about how much they hate sand. I hope when my life is is mortal danger I can escape to some beautiful countryside with no worries. Also did I miss something or wasn’t Diana supposed to start teaching classes?

Wunder seems to be this book’s version of Wakanda’s vibranium. What can’t it do? And what exactly is it?
