Note: The epilogue turns this book from a 4 star into a 5 star for sure. Her son was protecting her because he fell in love and trusted Tim. It’s so sweet and fucked up that he has no idea he just killed his evil dad who’s killed a lot of people.

Note: in the end Shane & his mom killed at least 7 people (Tracy, Brookes Mom & Dad, Kelli, Chelsea, Kayla, & Brandon)

Note: There’s the twist. Wasn’t Shane & Tim. It was Shane & his own mother. What a fucked up family. Guess Tim was the good guy after all. Her best friend was innocent & now in jail. Her son is kidnapped by his father.

Note: “Tim and Shane did it together.” - AH HA CALLED IT! Tim is just better at being more manipulative and kind than Shane. But why did Shane do it? I understand Tim. Was Shane just crazy?

Error: The yearbook memorial didn’t mention Chelsea’s death. The author prob. didn’t want us to know yet but still an error.

Note: Another girl goes missing around the time Brooke starts dating Tim? Shane’s in jail he couldn’t have done it which means Tim is definitely a killer. But who tried to kill her? Him or Shane or both?

Note: Shane apparently stabbed Tim while Tony was hitting him with a bat. It’s just one man’s word against another’s. They’re both guilty asf. They must be in on it together. I don’t see any other option.

Note: Tim definitely got her that necklace to fuck with her head, there’s no way he forgot if he truly cared about her as much as he says.

Note: Thought Hunt was a good guy at first but he’s an absolute asshole & a spy/creeper.

Note: “Kayla laying on the bed, her chest covered in fresh blood.” wtf?! Don’t split up with a killer in the house! That’s two people dead plus the girl from two months ago! Tim and Shane have got to be in on it together.

Note: Damnit now I like Tim… ugh… maybe he raped her & the Shane tried to kill her? Probably not considering how her son is so much like Shane though. Tim or Shane? Kill or be killed?

Note: Sandalwood- Tim wears it because he thinks she likes the smell and wants the to want him. What if he and Shane are both killers?

Note: Some woman need to get it in there head that if I made inserts himself into your life and desperately wants to know everything about you and tell you his feelings then he’s in love with you… he’s not just a friend ☠️

“I don’t care if you think I’m a… a killer,” he chokes out. “Just… you’ve got to stay away from Tim Reese. He’s dangerous. Please, Brooke.”

Note: Her not being close to her parents makes me sad. And her Dad… driving to see her… possibly being afraid for her to come back, as well as wanting her to sell the house. They must have known about Tim. And they were blackmailed or couldn’t prove it so they were worried for their daughter?

Note; Why would Shane stupidly try to kill her in his own home with people around? That makes no sense. It would have to be Tim. He’s obsessive with her. He tried to kill her with the necklace he gave her and then “saved” her hoping she’d be with him. Final theory.

Note: Maybe Tracy looked like her and that’s why Tim killed her or maybe the author wants us to think it’s Tim when it really was Shane but he is just that manipulative… or maybe the author wants us to look at Shane and dismiss Tim or just confuse the shit out of the reader

Theory: “I could feel the links of the gold necklace digging into my neck, I could smell Shane’s sandalwood aftershave tickling my nose, and I could feel his hot breath on my neck. But there’s one thing I can’t do. I can’t see his face…” - Because it was Tim you dummy & you have made a terrible mistake 😭

Theory: I think Brooke got so drunk that when she was attacked and thought Shane was trying to kill her that it was actually Tim because he’s obsessed with her…

Note “‘I love you, Brooke…’ That was what he said to me just a few hours before he tried to kill me.” - Attempted murder enough to give a life sentence or was there something more?
