Murdoch should have called this book "asshole biologist torments dim-witted humanities scholars", but that would have been too long for a title I guess. It's an amusing enough read, but it reeks a bit too much of the kind of tedious high society TV-drama that takes place in British castles. The opposition of Tallis, the saint like figure, and Julius, a doctor Mepistopheles of sorts, was a nice conceptual scheme.
