Most ponds have several snappers, and many DNA studies have shown that a single snapper clutch can have as many as five different fathers.

“A new danger, moreover, now threatens the birds at sea. An irreducible residue of crude oil, called by refiners “slop,” remains in stills after oil distillation, and this is pumped into southbound tankers and emptied far offshore. This wretched pollution floats over large areas, and the birds alight in it and get it on their feathers. They inevitably die. “

All small lakes have in common a predictable progression called succession, the inevitable change in plant population over a period of time. The succession of the lake is toward its demise; the smaller the lake, the quicker its prospective disappearance.

Fascinating how this book predates an understanding of plate tectonics at that time they really believe the moon came from the Pacific Ocean and all other oceans had a layer of granite. Seas Were in the same position they have always been.

At the time of writing the earth was only 2.5 billion years old calculated from the oldest rocks.

The most popular theory for the formation of moon was that it was torn away from the earth’s surface through tidal resonance. The idea has been so clearly wiped off our history books that I’ve never heard of it before.
