Preliminary review: so far, this is the book I craved to read when I was an adolescent obsessed with The Mummy. The vibes are near immaculate. That said, for a YA, I wish this was a little more fast paced, and the magic element needs to be a little more fleshed out. It would be one thing if we were learning along w/ Inez, but she seems to innately understand what’s going on, which isn’t good storytelling.
