A little discombobulated and tangential but overall presents some intriguing insights, especially for a young person getting to know themself and searching for their purpose.

Enjoyable read — this book just makes sense. Very insightful for 20-somethings beginning a new life chapter. Has helped me take a new approach to understanding others and myself.

Pleasant read that inspires a revitalizing spirit for adventure. Is it Steinbeck’s best work? So far, no. Not by a fair margin. But perhaps I am ill-equipped to make such a claim as I am merely an amateur Steinbeck scholar. Many who are harsh to criticize this book, however, seem to look past Steinbeck’s thoughtful commentary on the changing American landscape, the very reason I find this to be an enjoyable read.

One of the most enjoyable books I have read in recent years. The environmental philosophy of not only the protagonist, but the author too, combine to create some of the most personally relatable and fascinating passages.
