Starting this short one to give me some respite from ‘I Am Pilgrim’. So far my main thought for this story is: Don’t be petty or prideful in matters of the heart with those you love.

“I’ve seen men so scared they defecate themselves, I’ve seen men about to die get an erection. But I’ve only ever seen one man so terrified that he did both at the same time”.

This opens a chapter in the middle of the book before describing a waterboarding scene.
