I need a book that requires zero thinking so here we go lol

Almost halfway through and…..I am not super impressed. It was doing ok until the trials and now I’m finding myself just skimming through this one I’m on. I’m finishing myself not too attached to the characters either. The best relationship in the book so far is our MC and her brother.

Yall ngl im really struggling here, I don’t like a SINGLE CHARACTER. And if the author mentions Kit’s “mismatched eyes” one more time I might just kms 🥲🥲🥲 I’m only continuing bc it’s not that long of a book.

The reviews for this say it’s so good but honestly I’m struggggggggling with the writing style 🥲 I had to google if it was actually young adult because the author writes such choppy, juvenile phrases. Hope I don’t dnf 😭

This book is genuinely so good??? It is def higher fantasy—I lose track of some things it tries to describe sometimes and often I wonder if going THAT into depth about certain aspects that don’t really play that much into the plot is necessary, but it has held my attention the entire time! Plot continues trucking even as it describes.

Seriously hope I don’t regret this venture into another 650 page book 🫠

…yikes. A scene happened that I felt really icky reading the whole time. Gonna finish this out just to see the ending but the book kinda lost me there.

This writing and prose is amazing. The setting descriptions are absolutely perfect. I’ve yet to see if the characters hold up as well as that. As is usual with a KL book, it takes quite a bit to get to the actual plot stuff but I’m enjoying it way more than the last one attempted by far.

I can’t believe I’m this far into a book and I’m about to DNF it…the characters are so bad. So unbelievable. I don’t care about them at all despite it taking 250 pages to introduce them. Ms. Lake I’m so sorry I loved the last book I read by you but this is just…ugh. 😖 I kept going hoping it would turn out ok like the last one and just take time to get into but nope…

When I tell yall this is the hottest book I’ve ever read…….that even still is an understatement. 🥵🥵🥵

Wow talk about reading slump!! This book was soooo boring for the first 60 or so pages but then it really started to pick up. Can’t put it down now.

Ngl I’m reeeeeeeeally struggling staying into this book. Might dnf if it doesn’t start picking up.
