Thoroughly enjoying my return to the world Daniel has created. Immersed in the story and looking forward to reading the series in its entirety in the future

Around 70% of the way through Amarah and enjoying this even more than the previous novels in the series. The world building in these books really ramped up in this novel and in Palom. Very much invested in the characters with Isa, Palom and Amarah being my favourites so far. I’ve already read 100 pages of it today and glad I have. Definitely a good book to binge and become consumed by the world and characters

A 1/4 of the way through already, feels like I only just started reading it. The book has me hooked like the first book in the series. I enjoyed the visits to Zoe’s and Theo’s homes and also the introduction of a new POV character Maddoc. The near future fantasy world is interesting and has been expanded for the second volume. I’ve found this series unique and engaging.

Completed the first chapter and WOW! Reminds me of the World of Ice and Fire..this could be epic

Wow…one of the best historical fiction books I have ever read. The book was epic, it reminded me strongly of David Gemmill’s Trojan series of books. Looking forward to reading the others in the series.

As suspected, loved the book. Simon Scarrow has such an easy reading style

Already half way through the book. Another interesting story from Gordon, the book is more of a thriller type with the flow between scenes quite quick, a bit of a different style than Gordon’s usual books but I am really enjoying it.

Another great book by Ruadh. Definitely reminds me of David Gilman’s books in a very good way. Love the uniqueness of the setting and the vivid descriptions.

Wow, this is definitely a hidden gem. Reminds me strongly of David Gilman’s books and Bernard Cornwell’s Heretic series. I am surprised this book isn’t well known. Will definitely be reading the whole trilogy.

Another brilliant book by Simon Turney. I loved his book Commodus and this book has been equally as compelling

No wonder this series is rated so highly. Has to rank as one of the best historical fiction books I have read. The level of detail is brilliant

Just what I was looking for in an Egyptian novel. Great world building so far and interesting characters, with well depicted scenes of the Nile.

What an accomplished debut. The book already has be gripped. Last Kingdom vibes to it, which is exactly what I was looking for!

Another brilliant Simon Scarrow book. Like the TV show Spartacus. The book is only just getting into its flow and it’s already got me hooked

The best Carbo book so far. It has been hard to put down. I really enjoy Alex’s books and their easy reading style.

Really enjoying Watchmen of Rome. I expected nothing less though as I loved Alex’s Imperial Assassin’s stories.
