It’s a sci fi classic… about monks?

Still very interesting, with lots of religious aspects to consider. Not quite sure yet where all this going…

From tale #3: “My early poetry was execrable. As with most bad poets, I was unaware of this fact, secure in my arrogance that the very act of creating gave some worth to the worthless abortions I was spawning. My mother remained tolerant even as I left reeking little piles of doggerel lying around the house. She was indulgent of her only child even if he was as blithely incontinent as an unhousebroken llama.”

A classic, finally getting around to it

“How can we claim that God is love while at the same time saying that God allows us to suffer the consequences of our actions or that God takes action against us because of our injustice? … Perhaps the full unveiling of the God of love will look and feel different to us depending on the degree to which we have aligned ourselves with that love and with those most protected, defended, and claimed by that love.”

Still not sure how this will end, still looking for more answers.

Still surprised at where this story goes, so much more than a couple sheriffs in a metal hole. Who knows where Silo #3 will end up?

A surprising sequel, adding so much to the Silo world. So far absolutely fascinating!

Pretty trashy. The word “hot” is used more times to modify people than dragon’s breath. But the dragons/magic stuff is kind of fun

I’m in for the dragons, high stakes and intrigue, but a bit too “horny swearing youths” for me (I am officially old). It’s fun enough, just feels trivial in comparison to the relationships and adventures of my favorite literary dragon Temeraire…

After a slowish start, this thing is flying! I can’t imagine how far this plot will go with two more books.

Loooong. Important concepts, well-argued points. The tone is a bit off—feels like a PhD dissertation that the publisher dumbed down for popular readers. The folksy comments, pop culture illustrations, and lengthy narrative reconstructions of Biblical material seem at odds with homoousia and perichoresis. Instead of trying to make it “popular,” they should have just cut the whole length in half.

Feels different from the TV. Just when I think “oh yeah, that’s what happened,” the book swerves into different territory.

Third’s a charm?

Very good study, so interesting. Why is it taking me so long to read?

Same as the first: great, but lots of pages. Sooo many pages.
