Honestly guys I was expecting to hate-read this book but the writing is just bland... You told me it will be deliciously bad and it's just boring!!

I always had a hard time with Control but... but I still think about this book so maybe I will enjoy it more when rereading it?

I am warming up to our hero although I still find him annoying and the kiss thing made no sense but dammit I liked it!

Okay, I need a break for today, but it was a lot of fun to return to Area X.

I admit reading it is a lot better than listening to it, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do if she wants to read the 4th novel before it comes out!

I forgot how much I enjoyed this book because the atmosphere in the book captures you and immerses you in it just like Area X does. Not sure how VanderMeer managed this but I love love love it!

I forgot how weird and eerie and fascinating and how this book embraces you.

Reread time because THE SURPRISE FOURTH BOOK! I forgot how much I like being in this series, nightmares and all.

I was deceived by the cover. I was expecting this book to be a lot more fun or at least the illustrations to be more fun.

Okay, guys, buckle up. We are doing this - hopefully I'll be done with it this week because my friend wants to see the film.

The thing is... these books do smell like American propaganda.

The thing is... I am not sure this author is capable of writing real complex characters. They are either evil or too good to be true. He has hints of a complex character (usually a father) but they barely appear in the story...

Don't get me wrong, it's still kinda melodramatic and there are many things that could be improved but it flows a lot better than his first book - or maybe it's easier to care for the characters since they aren't suck an unlikeable prick.

I am really really enjoying this one and I am invested in the story and I am not ready for the emotional damage!

Better written than his first book.

I really do hope the hero changes his thinking or I will slap him silly! Also, I am so not a fan when there is a dead love interest who was his stars and his moon...

Yas! Yas! Yas! I really needed such a funny rom-com to take a break from the other books I'm reading. Chef's kiss so far!

The cover kinda sucks but the banter and the humour is there. I also love when I easily get a sense of a character even if they are on the phone only - so yeah, I love his family! I am so excited for this!!

I do not get Tem. I am sorry, but it's not believable for a second that she is torn between the two of them - it's like she gets two completely different personalities depending which guy she is with... I have no idea. Also the ratio of plot to spice is a bit messed up - I can see why this book is so long now, but can we move on with the plot too?

So... I do like the back and forth but I am not sure how believable it is in a way. Like I need more convincing or something. I'm definitely a Leo girl (I sure like a blond entitled tortured rich boy) and they kinda make more sense, don't they? Her feelings for Caspen (and his too) don't make sense in a way. Damn, I'm really invested in this basilisk p*rn.
