The book "Prisoner B-3087 is about Yanek, a Jewish boy during World War. This book is a tale of his fight for survival in the concentration camps up to his liberation by the Americans 6 years later.

Setting: Cold and snowy. "Snow fell on us most days, and the road we walked on was frozen if we were lucky, freezing slush when not." (Gratz 168). The duration of time is 5 years from the beginning of the book to where I'm at now.

Man vs society
Yanek is treated harshly by the nazis. "He struck me in the back with the butt of his rifle" (Gratz 64).

man vs. man?
"Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt this broadcast with the news that the German army have reached Krakow." (Gratz 5). Here the conflict is when Yanek's town has been invaded by the Nazi's.
