For me, I see many more Windows in this book than mirrors, like when Eleanor's stepfather Richie gets upset because Eleanor's mother "[forgot] the pumpkin on Christmas" (Rowell 198). This is a window to me because no one in my family would get THAT upset about not having pumpkin pie on Christmas.

Adversity impacts the way others see us, like when Park’s mother decides that she doesn’t like Eleanor because of the way she dresses, acts, and looks. Though, she has no idea what her home life is like.

Adversity impact the way we see others because we make assumptions. Based on someone's actions or body language we can assume ho someone is feeling, even if it isn't accurate.

My research today helped me connect the article I read to my book club book. The article talked about victims of domestic abuse and how they feel like they can't leave the relationship. This connects to my book when the article explains that the abuser uses fear to make themselves in control, which I see in Richie.

I got past the part where you learn about Eleanor's home life when she talks about having many siblings. But I am wondering when I get to learn more about Park since I haven't yet.

I just learned about Stella's daughter, Kennedy and after learning about Desiree's daughter Jude I'm starting to wonder how their lives will connect back to each other through their daughters.

When I put this book down it makes me appreciate my sister more because of what Desiree experienced when Stella ran off on her own, leaving her behind. I'm sure Desiree and her mother were devastated after losing her which makes me think about how I would feel if something like that happened to me.
