Every time Rushdie talks about someone he met or was friends with I think, "how cool to hang out with (insert awesome author's name here)". But then I quickly think it would have been pretty cool to hang out with Rushdie too. Love how all these amazing authors were friends and truly admired and respected each other's work and valued friendship.

This book makes me hungry.

Roth is pretty genius...I can hear the frenzied thinking of Les Farley through Roth's fashioning of the sentences.

Getting back to teaching and a bit of ennui have slackened my reading pace considerably.

So far I can't help thinking this is Harry Potter goes to college.

I am having flashes of Tom Robbins reading this book, and that is a good thing for anyone wondering.

My plan is to bust through the work I have to do and sit in my backyard and finish this today so I can start a re-read of A Moveable Feast.

I wish my family would apprciate that I don't want to put this book down.

Quick read, but wonderful writing and story telling. Sad.

Sometimes I like when I read fast, and others times, like now, it makes me sad that it is going to be over soon.
