Look, ma! Our heroes are threatening witnesses with bodily harm, but that’s ok because those witnesses are assholes and our protagonist feels a bit bad about it afterwards.

I’ll probably finish the book because I want to see how the mystery turns out, but I can’t root for these characters after this.

This is a pretty polarizing book, and it's looking like I'll fall on the side of those who didn't like it. I'll try to push through it because I don't like leaving ARCs unfinished, and hopefully it'll improve
