Why weren't 90% of the events leading up to the foreign schools' arrivals included in the movie? I can't remember how much of it is shown later on but I'm pretty sure most of it isn't in there at all

Chapter 1 down and I'm really liking it. It is literally just like rewatching the show but ever so slightly different dialogue and character descriptions. I'm also liking that the language isn't too old timey to understand.

28% through the Goodreads sample of this book and I've just finished the prologue and am about to start chapter 1. I like it so far as it really seems as though the show has followed the books pretty closely but I'll see how the rest of the book plays out compared to the show.
