What? How? His voice, his slurring, sloppy, barely audible monotone voice. Caring Health. Karina.

I adore their bittersweet dynamic.

Huge fan of ch 12. Richard struggles to walk three blocks from his home, manages to reach a bench in the Public Gardens, and spends the rest of the chapter dwelling on Karina.

Chapter eleven focuses on Richard Evan's relationship with his home health aid, Bill Swain, who visits Richard every day at 9 am sharp. Richard's deep appreciation for Bill is quite precious.

Lisa has done a wonderful job with her characters who feel genuine in both their thoughts and actions. The dynamic between the now divorced Richard and Katrina in incredible; my stomach twists as they both attempt their best to deal with Richard's ALS and their past history.

Although I was assigned this book as part of my Health, Law, and Ethics course (as the plot involves Richard suffering through the stages of ALS), the reading itself has thrown me for a loop! An unexpected enjoyment.

Completed a little after May 25th, 2020. Really good read! Ilhan Omar's past is rather insane, she has endured so much to become one of the U.S House of Representatives. Phenomenal story telling, the book that was so enjoyable to read it was difficult to put down. Recommend 10/10.
