i HATE how slowly i’m reading this book, but god is it brilliant.

i adore miller’s prose

i’m reading this so slowly but i love madeline miller’s writing and retellings

the end. beautiful book, beautifully put together and a very interesting perspective on the concept of being human.

too tired to finish it tonight, will do it tomorrow

the complexity and duality of human nature is both thrillingly interesting and terrifying at the same time

truly thought inducing and beautiful commentary on human nature. love this quote: “To examine the cause of life, we must first have recourse to death.”

also loved this quote: “How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form?”

okay, they’re growing on me. they’re actually really cute.

this quote struck me in the heart too hard: “Why did she have to spend the rest of her life coming out over and over and over...?”

i do not care for the writing at all, but the story doesn’t seem too bad.

also, i hate this quote: “Being asexual would trump everything else about her, good and bad
and weird.”

the battling finally begun, and still i felt like nothing has happened in the book at all yet. hoping the ending doesn’t disappoint

still too much politics and too little battle for my taste. the book’s interesting, but gets boring quickly

i do not know if i like this book or not so far; it just feels… neutral? i feel nothing about it

read this last night but forgot to put it in; Teddy’s confession is always so great but so heartbreaking, too. the poor boy just wants to be loved :(
