"Behind Closed doors" was my least favorite of Shannon Mckenna's books. The hero's only redeeming qualities were that he loved his brother & could have rough sex all night. The heroine's only redeeming qualities were that she was unconsciously beautiful & enjoyed sexual role playing. It was a relief to finish the book and leave these characters to their lifetime of rough sex and mutually condescending conversations.

This book is so shallowly written, it's like an object lesson on show-don't-tell. I don't know if I'll be able to finish it.

I have regrouped and am continuing with this fascinating and somewhat frustrating book. I cannot begin to imagine reconciling myself to a life, the choosing of which I had no part.

Okay plot and weird word choices. Any author who uses the term "put their noggins together" in a book that takes place in England in the early 19th century is highly suspect.

I'm having a hard time with the premise. We'll see if it comes together, but I'm not hopeful.
