It's so inspiring how the entire crew persevered through this incredible journey in Antarctica. I was particularly impressed by Captain Shackleton's leadership, especially when he left the group with a small crew to navigate to the next island. It's also incredible how tenacious the remaining crew was as they waited under those harsh conditions for rescue.

Probably the best book so far. So compelling, I can’t wait to read the
finale.

Truly incredible voyage: I’m so astonished by the resilience of the entire crew to survive in these harsh conditions, not to mention the difficult tasks that Shackleton, the captain, had to endure.

Although he was the “Boss”, Shackleton “wanted to appear familiar with the men”. He had the same conduct, clothes and food.

Finally a historically detailed based biography on Warhol.

The story of Harry Potter in the last part looks like a repetition of The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. In the first one, I believe the author takes inspiration from the Fellowship of the Ring to destroy some dark objects. As in Star Wars, throughout the entire saga, there’s the battle between the dark forces that first permeated the Ministry, led by the Dark Lord, who finally has to face Potter to win over.

It is a visionary story of an immigrant who laid the foundation for American supremacy in the art world.

Isaacson’s brilliant capacity to merge history with contemporary events—which are probably more interesting to us—makes this biography extraordinary.

Another great Isaacson’s biography.

It is fascinating to consider one of the greatest scientists who generated many innovations. Even though Leonardo da Vinci is among the greatest, he contributed significantly to scientific knowledge. Science is a pursuit of mankind that started from the beginning and will never end; each scientist humbly contributes a little to our collective understanding.

It is fascinating to know how Einstein’s theory on relativity could not be understood initially at the time, also in particular among some of his closest colleagues and friends. It is kind of encouraging for myself, because it has taken me few months to understand the overall conceptual idea of the General Theory of Relativity.

While this work may appear to be a straightforward examination of the most evident effects of global warming, it surpasses such expectations. It offers an innovative and lucid portrayal of the nature of heat and its present and future dangers.

This book helps you realize the reality of humanity’s true challenges. As humans, we are often confined within our own bubble of life, focusing on our jobs and families, but we struggle to see the bigger picture. Global warming has already had significant impacts, and its consequences will be lethal.

So compelling and relevant …

The introduction is so intriguing. I just don’t get why “Unless otherwise noted, all temperature references in this book are in Fahrenheit”. He could have included a small notes in Celsius.

Love this: “the only rules are the ones dictated by the laws of physics. Everything is else is a recommendation.”

It is a pity that this book does not have coloured images for the artwork.

Clear representation of an extraordinary human being. I particularly like the short chapters which allow me to better reflect on Musk’s life and the beautiful pictures that accompany each section.

It gives a brilliant perspective of the peculiar and contorted lives and work of contemporary artists.

This book offers a beautiful insight into Munch's life and work, exploring his artistic process and ideas that laid the foundations for the Expressionism movement.

There’s an interesting aspect of Munch’s art: its relationship to nature and the cold environment of Norway in the late 1800s. It is something that does now clearly but I believe that the nature that he represents in his paintings is a relevant issue in our contemporary society, particularly in the event of global warming.

It is so dreamy the part when Munch arrived in the glorious city Paris of in the early 1800s

It is fascinating how patient Lincoln was in dealing with the emancipation of slaves, as he understood how such a dramatic social change was delicate even in the abolitionist states. Also, It was touching how President Lincoln dealt with the immense call for new conscripts.

It is incredible to see the extraordinary capacity in Lincoln to maintain discipline during such turbulent times. As a brilliant lawyer, he understood the difficulties in abolishing slavery within the Union. The constitution didn't allow it, and so, being an abolitionist himself, he started to work towards ending slavery within the Confederate states. He began to seize and reform the slaves in times of war.

The Dumbledore’s office - the Howard’s headmaster room - is so fascinating with all the portraits of the previous headmasters and its mystic potions. I loved the part when, Dumbledore’s death, Professor
McGonagall becomes headmistress at the school.
