the past is... oppressive in this chapter to say the least..

it's very interesting how charles and adam seem to have swapped places. there's got to be some future major conflict w such a huge inheritance (not just abt where their dad got the money) and knowing that adam strikes it rich in california, i'm getting the feeling that he will either screw charles over or charles will self destruct
