If anyone is reading this, don't bother... go reread the Odyssee instead.

About... 10-20 pages ago, this book took a serious turn for the worse and now it is almost unbearable to read. There is no consistency to this book... the setting changes at the whim of the author, and so does the narrator, oh, and the human protagonist is just... wrong.

Anyways, I started the damn book... and since I am halfway... I might as well finish the damn book.

My fourth book today, but surely I won't finish it before the day is over? This book has an interesting perspective, which is that of a Goddess, however... at this point, I am struggling to find my way into the story and the setting.

Anothing book (novella really) from my most recent Sub press grab bag, but this one... a much less likely candidate to a book I might like. I reads as sort of a YA horror book, but so far... it's not too bad. The language is very accessible and the narrator quite likable.

This book leaves me stunned. The prose is like the soft trickle of a brook, calming yet powerful and ancient. I am more than halfway through the story, and yet... it only seems to have just begun. I am curious to see what conclusion it brings, but regardless... I intend to read the rest of the books about the Mither mages and hopefully... Runnel and Lark.

This story reminds me of the stories of Robin Hobb...

Darn! What a nice beginning to a story... I want to know what Runnel makes of himself and especially what he finds in Mitherhome.

Got this book in my Subterranean Press Grab Bag today... along with 9 other goodies! So yeah, starting off easy with this novella... working my way up to the 600 page McCammon novel, Stinger. So far, though, I am liking it. I am totally aboard going to the Afterlife and getting revenge!

The last 4 stories have been... horrible and not worthy of a great master of fiction. I need some sort of coherence between the stories in an anthology... doesn't have to be much, just a little. In this anthology there seem to be no coherency at all. A shame.

More stories that surprise me, Ray Bradbury is much more than science fiction. I especially liked the Meadow, the story about an old night watchman protecting all his cities and realms... these stories have something on their mind.

So far this small anthology has really surprised me. The tales are really diverse and delivers many strange tales... but also some very down-to-earth tales. Interesting.

Love the concept of this book: imagine if we could make a machine that could copy anything, in unlimited amounts. But, the beginning is weird so far and I am not enjoying how this concept is introduced to the world.

The Scorpion... storytelling at its best and most interesting. Whatever could it mean when a scorpion crawls down your throat in a dream...

Just finished A Distant Episode... painful... disturbing, but, Mr. Bowles is also quickly teaching me not to read his stories literally. So far... not disappointed.

All my fears... gone. This is the story of a man who has lost everything, perhaps even his sanity. I like the feel of despair. Every time there is even the smallest hope of companionship... it is taken away from him.

After reading Asimov's Foundation, I was in badly need of real characters... and immersion. With this novel, I've found plenty of both. Very different from the movie, which might just turn out to be a good thing. However, if the 'vampires' are intelligent, it should be easy to get Neville out of his home. I am crossing my fingers that they are not really intelligent.

I am nearing the end. So many questions have yet to be answered, but since we are moving further away from the beginning, I doubt that will happen. This was surely a good book in its own time.
