Really enjoyed this story, even before I realized the main character Timmy in this novel is Amos Burton. A fascinating look at a sort of post modern Baltimore and the criminal underbelly of the city. A good, mafioso story the end result is knowing a bit more of Amos’s character and past choices which have brought him where he is in the rest of the series.

Drive: 2.5/5
A particularly short story about the man who invented the technology it takes to travel fast enough to go to the outer planets. I was lost a lot throughout this story, and not particularly sad about it either. Prior short stories have all expounded on a previously introduced character, while this one introduced two new people I found I just didn’t care much about.

Gods of Risk: 5/5
A compelling story about Bobbie and her nephew on Mars, a little crime noir of sorts. The nephew David is a kid who is studying biochemistry, and has gotten involved with cooking drugs on the side. As he gets drawn deeper into a dealers hard nosed life, complicated by a girl, we see Bobbie going through the motions of living and trying to find her place in the world post “Calibans War”.
