This was a beautiful plot to see come together. I loved how he jumped back and forward to hook the reader to see how it unfolded. There were a few things that felt contrived, like the relationship between Juliet and Lukas, and the rushed resolution at the end. But this was a fun ride, a brilliant idea, and great execution. That this was Howey's debut novel which began as a short story was even more impressive.
