I'm mortified by my ignorance of US literary novelists. I started this in the vague belief that it was elegiac stuff about gay men dying of AIDS, rather than the weird metafictional detective story it appears to be so far.

Four stories in, this has already ranged from the pretty good (Mark Hodder's "The Loss of Chapter Twenty-One" and Mags Halliday's "Holmes and the Indelicate Widow" to the execrable (Nick Kyme's "The Post-Modern Prometheus"). It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.
