HOW is this going to end oh my god

seriously I spend every chapter fighting heart palpitations, this is well written and INTENSE

this shit is taking years off my life, the DRAMA oh my GOD

starts off with a bang and gets to the point right away. by page 11 the whole plot is laid out. dynamite writing.

Lots of important ideas but the format - a collection of stand-alone essays rather than a book written to build on itself as it goes along - is repetitive and doesn't get deep into the issues. Have been fact checking periodically and haven't found more discrepancies, which is reassuring.

ok ok I'm over the totally fabricated statistic from the third essay, it is still a problem but I've made it thru a few more essays and she's got a lot of smart shit to say

tbh this reads more like a textbook than a regular nonfiction book and it's pretty slow going as a result

Every major character in this book is a gem.
