The book is interesting but more about JFK’s assassination than Dorothy Kilgallen. The title is misleading. I’ve skimmed much about assassination cause it isn’t why I chose book and we will never know truth. Just like Kilgallen’s death.

Ibsen is the only author that truly scares me. 😅 This book is creepy and I’m not even halfway through. I love how he is able to scare with classic storytelling. No gore, no shock value. Just good writing all around.

Absolutely loving this book and learning about all that went into being a stewardess for Pan Am in early 60s! It’s a bit like the movie, View From the Top.

A drive in movie theater screen fell on them??? During calm weather. Does this actually happen? I’m having a hard time continuing this book as it is. But a movie screen falling over might be my limit.

Learning about Dorothy’s life is fascinating. She was a strong woman in a man’s world back then. Her work is just as interesting as her life. I’m listening to Johnnie Ray for background music. You need to know about Dorothy to know why.

The book is great so far! It’s wild to think how Jean Harlow had been married, divorced, owned her own house and become famously known as the Platinum Blonde all by 19 years old!

Excellent book so far. I know everything there is to know about Lucille Ball so it’s been nice learning all about Desi. His life is fascinating. Plus, he did so much for the early days of television!!!

This book is freaky but also intriguing. It reminds me of The Sixth Sense meets The Shining meets September House.

Started off strong, but is getting boring. A couple things weird happened but not enough to keep my attention. Being inside the MC’s mind is boring. There’s lots of running and the husband is annoying. I was so excited for a haunted house novel but feel it’s going another direction?

I don’t think I’ve ever read a first chapter THIS good!!! I was freaked out by page 10! I hope the rest of the book is as good as chapter 1 cause the bar is set pretty high now.

Ugh! Anytime the author uses HVAC ducts for characters trying to escape I want to throw the book. Majority of duct work isn’t large enough for anyone bigger than a small child and usually narrows to the point that nobody is getting through.

The parallels between the ways government, Nazis and society treated the trans (even gay) community almost 100 years ago to today is frustrating as hell!!! Why are we going backwards? Especially, when being transgender is nothing new nor wrong.

I don’t like Mara. I may not be able to get through this with such a flippant and rude character. I get her family was crazy but she’s emotionally immature and Neil is so passive unless it’s telling her to be healthy every few pages. The dynamics suck.

Interesting but a little slow going. The book was written in 2015 and the character who has a cell phone. She stated at one point she wished she had a camera to take a picture of a graveyard she stumbled upon, even though she has her cell phone on her. Cell phones had cameras in 2015.
