Joseph is reading To Save a Thousand Souls: A Guide for Discerning a Vocation to Diocesan Priesthood
I am in the process of discerning a call to the priesthood. I ask that everyone pray for me, and everyone else trying to hear God's call in their lives.

...but we do see Jesus "crowned with glory and honor" because he suffered death, he who "for a little while" was made "lower than the angels," that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Saying the icons in Hagia Sophia were "whitewashed" is being overly polite. The Ottomons killed the priests celebrating mass when they took the city, smashed the altar, and threw paint over the icons. The sanctuary was completely desecrated.

Congratulations! Hagia Sophia is a mammoth cathedral, it served the capital of the Empire. The Patriarch of Constantinople still wants it back.

So, the Byzantine Empire isn't actually a thing, it remained The Roman Empire until the fall of Constantinople in 1453. The term Byzantine was dreamed up by enlightenment scholars because the Roman Empire had to include Rome. So New Rome, the name Constantine gave it, was the capital of the Roman Empire for 1000 years and the Ottoman for 500.

So your psycho with Dante on the brain is a transhumanist who's missing a few bricks. With all these shenanigans I can't decide whether to listen to Also Sprach Zarathustra or watch Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda! And now we're off to Constantinople?

I haven't wanted a character to just die already since Brünnhilde's final aria in Götterdämmerung!
