I swear, each time I experience Abbe Faria's revelation against the conspirators, which led to our main protagonist's harsh imprisonment, feels like a bullet finding its mark through the chest. I mean clip, gun cocked, and bam truth will out. That's how fast and impactful it reads.

I have a bone to pick, primarily because of the question, "Can you be charged for unknowingly aiding a criminal?" Berthing at Elba and taking a letter to Nortier in Paris doesn't help Dantes' innocence. Yes, yes... he swore a solemn oath to a dying Captain Leclere. But did it occur to Dantes to question the contents of the letter bearing news of Napoleon's uprising? Or that such letters are punishable by the court?

The description of Tessa Quayle's death is much more sinister in the book than in the movie. The book cover summarises the murder so eloquently.

The structured sentences and paragraphs compel you to read this book as fast as possible. It's a very effective thriller. I'm very engaged.

My apologies. Lately, I wasn't able to sit down, read, and concentrate. I'm anxious but I do not know why...
