Not bad, but theres 2 simultaneous story lines and there hasnt been a moment Ive liked both of them at the same time which makes progress slow

Idk how people come up with such unique ideas in such a saturated genre - this is like reading 3BP again, so unique

After the short, disjoinyed but aligned stories of the first 2 books, Sapkowski has found his narrative, and its masterfully written. This is really good.

Suspense thriller meets true sci-fi... it's good stuff

I like this...but it really irks me that they chose Jordan Peterson to be the endorsement of this book...like there are fewer pop culture people I can think of who are a worse choice than Peterson - like who at vintage classics read this book; and went, yeah Jordan Peterson is a good reflection of the people we want reading this. It's disappointing

Why, if you know you're going to be accussed regardless of guilt, as guilt is relative anyway, resist and face torture, when you could accept your fate and go to the camps?
Because you never accept guilt just for yourself; by pleading guilty you were always, even if not realised, dobbin someone else in

Review will have spoilers so non spoilers - 4.5 /5. It was almost 5/5 especially after the huge battle chapters near the end. But some of the big reveals at the end of various deceit seemed either completely out of character and done just for the sake of having a big twist or shouldn't have been done and tamed what is quite a ruthless story when it comes to killing main characters.

Still really fun, and so worth it.

The 'little people' chapter sells this as a 5/5 book...wowee
