Both of those are solid reasons for Ava to not just up and leave to follow her husband.

If I was Ava, I'd be angry that Winnie was there, and my husband sprung something like that on me. I'd definitely have to tamper my real reaction.

I can't lie, I'd be drawn to Winnie for the lavish lifestyle too. Especially since Ava knew her as needy and fobby (her words) from their earlier college days.

How sad to not have your mother around for your first child. I feel bad for Ava.
