Starting Chapter 2 now

I'm tired.

I think after a while you get used to the rhythm of reading the Quran. Well after a few hours. It has this hypnotic effect, just throught reading as well, not the listening aspect. The recitation has an extremely hypnotic effect on the consciousness. But I guess entering into that trance state helps make reading easier. I don't necessary agree with it still, but it makes it less tiresome.

Chapter/Verse 12 is culturally appropriating from Jewish Bible and then making it sound like Jewish prophets were actually Muslim. I'm DONE!.... Hahahaha

Very one-dimensional. Full of trivial laws about women, orphans and children, which were probably relevant in Ancient Arabia, but have no relevance today. Everything is black on and white, believers vs disbelievers, monotheists vs polytheists, heretics vs allah. Typical Abrahamism. Very similar to Christianity minus the Trinity.

This is so exhausting..... incredibly repetitive and dry. Better than Confucius Analects though. But its a very long book.

Its honestly a bit of a struggle with the fifty different topics in the first Al Baqara verse. But I really want to complete this "reading challenge" so I'm going to try to plough through it.
